Great links.
I think I’m the guy that gave the author of Viva Knievel his copy of the George Hamilton movie, but I’m not sure. Do you know if Otis wrote it? I can’t find the authors name.
Hi Doc! I don’t know anything about the origins of the post… WFMU (wfmu.org) is my new favorite thing to listen to though, especially the Old Codger show (http://wfmu.org/playlists/OC), which is my favorite radio show of all time.
Evil Knievel is, of course, awesome. Every tv in America tuned in to watch him attempt to jump over the Grand Canyon in the early 70’s, back when there were 3 channels and PBS, long before Jackass. My brother had the toys… the stunt cycle and the racecar with the parachute that shot out of the back… great for jumping over dirt clods… the Evel action figure was all bendy just like he had already broken every bone in his body. Like I said, awesome is the word for him. Awesome!
