I’m a sucker for cartoons with monkeys in them. This is a great one. A Disney Silly Symphony, directed by Burton Gillett.
My friend Ken Avidor sent me this hilarious Disney transportation vision of the future from the 1958 Disneyland TV Show episode entitled “Magic Highway USA”. It looks like it was animated by Bruce McCall. Somehow they missed the brilliant modern innovations of talking on the phone and watching movies as you drive, which seem like such obvious good ideas!
The pink elephants sequence from Dumbo is one of my favorite pieces of Disney studios animation… great music too.
Here’s the fantastic fourth Disney Silly Symphony, with spookies galore… directed by, that’s right, you guessed it, Ub Iwerks.

Here’s Ub Iwerks’ Disney Silly Symphony The Skeleton Dance… the first of the Disney Silly Symphonies series. According to Wikipedia, it was the first cartoon to have non-post-sync sound.
